Legal
Terms of Service
Effective October 19, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Casezy (“Casezy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and govern your access to and use of the Casezy website, AI chat, text messaging (including iMessage and SMS/MMS where supported), reports, attorney introductions, and related services (the “Service”).
When prompted, selecting “I agree” on the website or replying AGREE after our text notice accepts these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information; acknowledging it is not consent to unrelated marketing or every possible use of your information. If you do not agree to the Terms, do not use the interactive Service. Merely visiting the website does not accept the arbitration agreement in Section 18.
Please read Section 18. If you affirmatively accept its arbitration agreement, most disputes with Casezy, including covered telephone and text-messaging claims, will be resolved individually in arbitration instead of before a judge or jury. A 30-day opt-out and other exceptions are described there.
1. What Casezy is — and is not
Casezy is an AI-assisted product that provides general legal information. It is intended to help you understand a situation in plain language and, where available, point you to public sources you can check.
Casezy is not a law firm, lawyer, or legal services provider. The Service does not give legal advice, does not create an attorney-client relationship, and is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction. Communications with Casezy are not confidential or privileged. Do not treat anything generated by the Service as a legal opinion, filing instruction, or representation that we will act for you.
You are solely responsible for how you use the information you receive. Deadlines, statutes, procedures, and outcomes depend on facts and location. If your situation is urgent, high-stakes, or you are unsure what to do, consult a qualified attorney or the appropriate court, agency, or emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Do not rely on Casezy in an emergency.
Where available, you can ask Casezy to introduce you to an attorney through a group text. An introduction is a connection service, not legal representation or an endorsement of an attorney. Section 6 explains what is shared and how those group conversations work.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet that requirement and have the legal capacity to enter these Terms. The Service is not directed to children.
3. Accounts and guest use
On the website, you may start one guest conversation without an account. After that guest use, you must create an account to keep asking questions. We use an account service provider for registration and sign-in. You are responsible for providing accurate account information and keeping your login credentials confidential.
If you later create an account on the same browser, we may attach any guest conversation stored for that browser to your account so you can keep it.
Texting uses an account rather than the website’s guest mode. Before answering your legal question, we ask you to accept these Terms over text. Once you accept, we use your sending phone number or Apple ID email address to find or create an account. Your text conversations are associated with that account and can be available when you sign in on the website with the same identifier.
You must provide accurate account information and notify us promptly if you believe your account has been used without authorization. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, the account is compromised, or continued use presents a risk to the Service or other users.
4. The chat service
We use third-party AI and information services to process your conversation, generate responses, and find relevant sources. Text conversations may use summaries of your other Casezy matters to understand which matter you mean. Answers can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Citations, if shown, are for your review and do not guarantee that the answer is accurate or complete.
Signed-in conversations and your one guest conversation are stored so you can return to them. You can delete a saved chat using the website’s chat-history controls. Separate texting, group, payment, and other records are not erased by that action. See the Privacy Policy for deletion details and how to make a broader request.
We may change, rate-limit, or discontinue features, models, or the Service as a whole. We do not currently charge people for asking legal questions. An attorney introduction costs the price shown for that attorney before you pay, as described in Paid introductions. Carrier charges and any fees you agree with an attorney are separate. Attorney membership charges are governed by the terms presented to the attorney. If we introduce other paid features, we will describe the price and terms before you are charged.
5. Text messaging
What you are requesting
Casezy’s texting number is +1 (872) 286-3101. When you text us, you request a response about the Service. Our onboarding message asks you to reply AGREE before we answer your legal question and find or create your account. The texting service sends automated and AI-generated replies, follow-up questions, assessments (which may arrive as PDF attachments), and service or support messages related to your conversation. If you request an attorney introduction, it also sends the group introduction described in Section 6.
Texting is optional. Providing a phone number, creating a website account, or accepting these Terms alone does not authorize unrelated promotional texts. Your request for conversational messages or an introduction is not consent to marketing by Casezy or an attorney. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of purchase.
Frequency, charges, and availability
Message frequency varies with your questions, replies, and requested introductions. A response may arrive as several messages or a file. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan, including for group texts and attachments. You are responsible for those charges. Messaging features depend on your device, messaging service, carrier, and the other participants; not every number or device supports every feature.
Messages and files may be delayed, blocked, lost, or delivered out of order. Delivery indicators do not confirm that a person has read or acted on a message. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Casezy does not guarantee delivery, response times, or continuous monitoring. Do not use texting to serve legal papers, meet a filing deadline, or obtain emergency assistance.
Stopping messages and getting help
Reply STOP in your direct conversation with Casezy to stop its automated conversational messages. Reply START in that direct conversation if you want to resume. Reply HELP for assistance, or email legal@casezys.com for help or to ask us to stop messages. You may revoke consent through any reasonable means that clearly communicates your request; using the word STOP is not required. We will honor revocation within the time required by applicable law. We may send one non-promotional message confirming your request. Revoking messaging consent does not require closing your account or opting out of arbitration.
STOP does not delete your account or message history, remove Casezy from an existing group, or stop messages that an attorney or another group participant sends. Commands sent inside a lawyer group chat are not processed by the Casezy assistant. To stop receiving a participant’s messages, contact that participant or use your messaging app’s block or leave controls where available. See the Privacy Policy for retention and deletion choices.
Only use a number or messaging address you control and are authorized to use. If it changes, is reassigned, or is no longer under your control, stop messaging from it and update your account or contact us. Anyone with access to your device, linked devices, or messaging account may be able to see your conversations and reports.
6. Attorney introductions and group chats
What an introduction shares
By requesting and paying for an introduction, including by sending CONNECT with an attorney selection or submitting the website’s group-text form, you direct Casezy to create a group with you, the selected attorney, and Casezy. Your phone number or messaging address, name if available, and introduction note are shared with the participants. Over text, the note may be generated from facts you gave Casezy about that matter; on the website, you can review and edit the note before sending. A summary may contain sensitive facts and may be inaccurate. Check it and correct errors before relying on it or sharing more.
Do not request an introduction using someone else’s contact details without their permission. Other participants can retain, copy, or forward information they receive. We cannot recall a delivered introduction, report, or message from their devices.
Paid introductions
Casezy may enable free introductions for an attorney. When shown as free, no introduction payment or payment details are required from either party. This does not cover the attorney’s legal services; agree on any representation and legal fees with them directly.
Each attorney sets their own introduction price for each practice area, and Casezy shows it before you pay. You pay Casezy through Stripe. Casezy keeps a fee and transfers the rest to the attorney, and only then creates the group. The price pays for the introduction only: it is not a consultation fee, retainer, or payment for legal services, and it does not oblige the attorney to take your matter.
If Casezy cannot create the group after you pay, we refund the full price to your original payment method. Once the group has been created, the introduction has been delivered and the price is not refundable because the attorney declines or does not respond. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us before disputing the charge with your card issuer.
Casezy stays in the group
Casezy sends the introduction and then stops replying, but remains a participant. Messages subsequently sent in the group are received and stored by Casezy and can be viewed by the Casezy team through its administration tools. Silence from the bot does not mean Casezy has left or stopped collecting messages. Group messages do not receive automated legal answers, and access by our team does not mean the group is monitored for requests, emergencies, or deadlines.
A group that includes Casezy is not a private channel solely between you and your attorney. Casezy’s participation and access may affect confidentiality or attorney-client privilege; these Terms do not decide whether a particular communication is privileged. Before sharing confidential information, agree on an appropriate separate channel directly with the attorney, without Casezy as a participant. The attorney is responsible for their own professional duties, confidentiality practices, and handling of information they receive.
Your relationship with the attorney
A listing, introduction, automated report, or delivery of a message does not by itself mean an attorney has agreed to represent you, reviewed your matter, completed a conflict check, or accepted a deadline. Confirm directly with the attorney whether they will act for you and the scope, fees, and terms of any engagement. Casezy is not a party to that engagement and does not direct the attorney’s advice, work, or professional judgment.
What attorney verification means
Before approving an attorney for the directory, Casezy manually checks their licensure against the relevant state bar directory. “Verified” refers to that check at the time of approval. It is not ongoing monitoring, a comprehensive disciplinary or background review, or an assessment of insurance, past results, or the quality of legal services. License status can change; confirm current credentials with the relevant licensing authority before hiring.
Attorneys must provide accurate licensing information and notify Casezy if their license is suspended, restricted, revoked, or otherwise changes in a way that affects their ability to practice.
We do not guarantee an attorney’s availability, response, suitability, fees, work, or any outcome. Listings are not rankings or endorsements. Confirm fees and the scope of representation with the attorney before hiring. Unless waived by Casezy, attorneys pay a membership and Casezy keeps a fee from the introduction price you pay. Neither payment establishes an attorney-client relationship or guarantees the quality of legal services.
7. Your content
You retain whatever rights you have in the questions, prompts, and text and group-chat messages, introduction notes, and other material you submit (“User Content”). You grant Casezy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, and display User Content as needed to operate, secure, debug, and provide the Service, including sending it to the processors listed in the Privacy Policy.
You represent that you have the right to submit the User Content and that doing so does not violate law or anyone else’s rights. Do not submit information you are not authorized to share. Because chats are stored and processed by third parties to generate answers, you should not treat the Service as a safe place for secrets, passwords, payment card numbers, government ID numbers, or other data you would not put in an ordinary web form.
Output generated by the Service may be similar to output provided to other users. We do not claim copyright in your User Content. We do not grant you any right in Casezy’s name, design, software, or library materials beyond the limited right to use the Service under these Terms.
8. Acceptable use
You may not, and may not attempt to:
- Use the Service to obtain legal advice for a specific matter as if Casezy were your lawyer, or hold out Casezy output as the work of a licensed attorney.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including fraud, stalking, harassment, or the unauthorized practice of law.
- Upload malware, probe, scan, or attack the Service, or circumvent access, rate, or guest-use limits.
- Scrape, harvest, or systematically copy the Service or its outputs except as allowed by ordinary use of the interface or by law.
- Reverse engineer the Service except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Use or disclose Casezy’s confidential information or trade secrets without authorization, including to develop a competing service, except as permitted by applicable law. This does not restrict independent development using lawfully obtained information or lawful competition.
- Impersonate another person, misrepresent your affiliation, or create accounts by automated means.
- Use the Service to generate content intended to deceive a court, agency, or another person about the source or reliability of legal information.
9. Intellectual property
Subject to these Terms, Casezy grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service. This license ends when your access is terminated under these Terms.
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, and compilation, is owned by Casezy or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership to you. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.
10. Third-party services
The Service uses third parties for accounts, hosting, storage, security, AI processing, information retrieval, messaging delivery, and payments where applicable. These providers may change over time and may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions except as required by law. Links to outside sites are provided for convenience; we do not control those sites. Our Privacy Policy explains what information is shared and why.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CASEZY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE OR ANY OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, CURRENT, UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL MEET YOUR NEEDS OR SATISFY ANY LEGAL REQUIREMENT.
AI-generated information can hallucinate facts, miss deadlines, and omit exceptions. You assume all risk for reliance on the Service.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CASEZY AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE U.S. DOLLARS (US $25).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those places, the above limits apply only to the extent permitted, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such a limit is prohibited.
13. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify Casezy and its officers, employees, and contractors against third-party claims and reasonable costs caused by your unlawful use of the Service, your knowing violation of another person’s rights in material you submit, or your material breach of these Terms. This does not apply to ordinary authorized use, claims caused by our negligence or misconduct, or obligations that applicable consumer law does not permit. We will promptly notify you of a claim and reasonably cooperate. No settlement may impose an admission or non-monetary obligation on you without your consent.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access at any time, including if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 1, 6 through 13, 15, 16, and 18) will survive termination.
15. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page and brought to your attention through the Service or available account contact details. We will request affirmative acceptance of updated Terms before you continue using affected interactive features. Changes do not retroactively change the terms governing an existing dispute. The arbitration agreement in Section 18 requires the notice and acceptance described there. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service and request access to or deletion of your information.
16. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Casezy regarding the Service and supersede prior agreements on that subject. If a provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization, merger, or sale of assets.
These Terms are governed by applicable United States law. If you are a consumer, you also keep any non-waivable rights under the laws of the place where you live. Disputes subject to an accepted arbitration agreement are governed by Section 18. Other disputes may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction, subject to your non-waivable rights. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, or employment relationship. Headings are for convenience only.
17. Contact
For questions about these Terms, contact legal@casezys.com. For privacy requests, use privacy@casezys.com as described in the Privacy Policy.
18. Dispute resolution and individual arbitration
When this agreement applies
This Section applies only if you affirmatively accept these Terms after receiving conspicuous notice of this arbitration agreement and an opportunity to read it. Merely browsing, continuing to use an existing account, or having accepted an earlier version of the Terms does not by itself accept this Section. It covers disputes arising after your acceptance, subject to the exceptions and opt-out below.
Covered disputes
You and Casezy agree to resolve disputes arising from these Terms, the Service, or communications between you and Casezy through binding individual arbitration. This includes claims about calls, texts, consent, or revocation under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and similar state laws, to the extent those claims may lawfully be arbitrated. This agreement concerns the forum for resolving a dispute; it does not grant permission to send messages or excuse compliance with messaging laws.
Try to resolve the issue
You may describe your dispute and requested resolution by emailing legal@casezys.com. We may contact you at the address associated with your account to try to resolve it. Informal discussions are voluntary and do not prevent either party from filing a timely claim or seeking urgent relief. An opt-out request for messages does not need to use this process.
Administrator, rules, and costs
The American Arbitration Association (AAA) will administer the arbitration before one neutral arbitrator under its applicable rules. For personal, family, or household use of the Service, the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules and Consumer Due Process Protocol apply. For business or professional use, including an attorney’s use in their practice, the AAA Commercial Arbitration Rules apply. Rules and filing instructions are available at adr.org.
Fees are allocated under the applicable AAA rules and law. Casezy will pay the fees those rules require it to pay, and consumers may request available fee waivers. A consumer’s hearing will take place in a reasonably convenient location near their residence, or by phone, video, or written submissions as permitted by the rules. The arbitrator may award the individual remedies available in court, including statutory damages and attorney’s fees when authorized by law, and will issue a written decision. No provision of these Terms limits non-waivable statutory remedies. If AAA declines to administer a dispute, either party may bring it in court unless both agree to another administrator after the dispute arises.
Individual proceedings and exceptions
For covered disputes, you and Casezy waive a trial before a judge or jury and agree to bring claims only individually, not as a class or collective action. The arbitrator may not combine different people’s claims without all parties’ agreement. These restrictions apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Either party may bring an eligible individual claim in small claims court. Either may seek temporary relief in court to preserve their rights while arbitration proceeds. You may report matters to government agencies, and nothing restricts an agency’s authority. Claims and remedies that applicable law does not allow to be arbitrated or waived, including non-waivable public injunctive relief, are excluded from these restrictions. This agreement does not govern a dispute solely between you and an independent attorney.
Your 30-day right to opt out
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement and its class-action waiver by emailing legal@casezys.com within 30 days after first affirmatively accepting this Section. Include your name, the email address or messaging number you use with Casezy, and a statement that you opt out of arbitration. No particular subject line or form is required. Opting out will not affect your access to the Service or the other Terms, and neither you nor Casezy will be bound by this arbitration agreement. Opting out of arbitration does not stop messages; Section 5 explains how to do that.
Governing law and enforceability
The Federal Arbitration Act governs this arbitration agreement. A court, rather than the arbitrator, decides disputes about its formation, scope, or enforceability, including the class-action waiver. If a restriction is unenforceable for a particular claim or remedy, that part may proceed in court and the remaining enforceable provisions continue to apply. No class arbitration is authorized without both parties’ agreement. A court with jurisdiction may enter judgment on the award, subject to the review allowed by law.
